Sabrina Farber, President

Sabrina Farber is a social justice and political activist, as well as President of Congregation Beit Simchat Torah’s Board of Directors. In addition, she serves as co-chair to two of CBST’s social justice teams — Resistance, Calls & Cards, and the Democracy Action Team — which work to educate and empower folks to advocate with elected officials and key stakeholders about issues that are crucial to the Jewish, LGBTQ and New York communities.

Before devoting herself as a full-time activist, she spent 25 years in trade book publishing and held roles in sales and marketing, as well as publisher. She and her spouse, Ellen Shapiro, have been CBST members for more than 20 years, and feel fortunate to have raised their teenage son in CBST’s extraordinary community.
