Laurie Magid has been a member of CBST since 2015, and a Board member since 2019.
Laurie received her B.S. in Finance from the Wharton School of Business/U. Penn, in 1982, and her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1985. She has been an Assistant United States Attorney in Philadelphia, since 2001. In addition, she has taught at Rutgers, Villanova, Temple, and Widener Law Schools.
When we are not virtual, on most Friday afternoons you can find Laurie on Amtrak from Philly to New York, as she tries to make it to every wonderful CBST Shabbat service. As a co-leader of the Ending Mass Incarceration Team, she has focused on education through books, movies, and speakers, and on partnering with re-entry organizations to support formerly incarcerated people and their families. She and her husband, Jeffrey Miller, live in Philadelphia, and have three grown children — Julia, Henry, and Nicholas.
