In November 2009, Israeli police arrested Nofrat Frenkel of Women of the Wall for the alleged "crime" of carrying a Torah and wearing a tallit at the Kotel. More recently, on January 5th, Israeli police detained and interrogated Women of the Wall leader and director of the Israel Religious Action Center, Anat Hoffman, who is being accused of a felony.
