CBST is a community of supporting individuals and services. We come together to provide each other with times, spaces, and guidance to explore and find comfort in our spiritualities.

As a CBST member, you can enjoy:

Shabbat and Holiday Services
• Participation with your family and friends in any CBST service, including Shabbat, Saturday minyanim, and all holiday services
• The opportunity to lead religious services, give drashot,  or sermons (subject to Rabbis’ approval), and participate in CBST’s Community Chorus (subject to music director’s approval)
• Guaranteed seating at our High Holiday services

Life Cycle Events
• Access to our clergy team to officiate at and participate in all life-cycle events: kiddushin, baby namings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, commitment ceremonies, funerals, and shiva minyanim
• Pastoral counseling for personal issues, in private, one-to-one, with our clergy team
• Members who have been members for less than 2 years must pay a $1000 wedding fee.

Education
• Educational opportunities including Lehrhaus Judaica adult education courses, available at a discount for members
• Invitations to special educational events and seminars, including CBST’s annual spring congregational retreat and scholar-in-residence weekend

Pastoral Counseling
• CBST’s team of clergy offer pastoral counseling to its members and is available to meet privately--with complete confidentiality — to discuss matters of personal concern.
• In the case of an emergency, the clergy team is available, either in person or by phone, within 24 hours for pastoral counseling. For non-emergencies, appointments with one of the rabbis can generally be arranged within a week.

Community Life
• Subscription to the CBST newsletter and other mailings
• Voting privileges in CBST elections, as well as the opportunity to serve on committees and on the Board of Directors
• Volunteer opportunities, including synagogue committees, social justice groups, and more
• Invitations to exclusive social networking events, including community Shabbat dinners, movies, and theater trips
