Tzedek, Tzedek Tirdof: Tell Gov. Paterson not to Slash Senior Funding!
"Our generation, as those before and after us, will be judged by how we listen to those who are sick and vulnerable and to those who care for them. In the end, there is no them. There is only us."
-Rabbi Simkha Weintraub
Governor Paterson's budget includes a cut of up to $25.2 million, 25% of funding to NYC Senior Centers, which provide essential services to seniors across the city. This could result in 75 of these centers closing and/or having serious cutbacks in services. Join CBST and the Council of Senior Centers and Services of NYC in telling Gov. Paterson this is unacceptable. Call 518-474-8390 and say "Don't cut Title 20 money to senior centers. I don't want my senior center or any other one to close. I vote and this is unfair to senior citizens."
