Main Kabbalat Shabbat Service
The core of CBST's religious life is our weekly Kabbalat Shabbat service.
Friday evenings at 7:00 pm
Chelsea: Church of the Holy Apostles, 296 9th Avenue at 28th St in Manhattan
Service leadership at the Chelsea location is shared among congregants, Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum and Rabbi Rachel Weiss, as well as our Cooperberg-Rittmaster Rabbinical Interns Guy Austrian, Ari Lev Fornari, Yosef Goldman, and Cantorial student Magda Fishman. Joyce Rosenzweig, our music director and pianist, and the CBST Community Chorus participate in the service on a regular basis. Led using CBST's own prayer book, this warm service incorporates Hebrew prayers, English readings, and both traditional and modern songs. A drash is delivered every week by one of the Rabbis, an intern, a member of the congregation, or on occasion, by a special guest.
