Brit Rituals
welcoming new babies into the covenant of the Jewish people. Traditionally these are held when the baby is eight days old or when the baby is first brought to services. For biological males this ritual includes the brit milah (ritual circumcision). All brit ceremonies include rituals and liturgy blessing the baby and its parent(s), announcing the name, and welcoming the baby into the covenant of the Jewish people
