Transforming Beitecha Conference - Keynote Address - Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum
Transforming Beitecha Conference, CBST, March 7, 2010
Transforming Beitecha Conference Overview
While there have been many strides in advancing the position of LGBTQ individuals within Judaism over the past 30 years, many clergy do not yet know how to adequately deal with the nuance of queer and trans people’s lives. Even though a rabbi may give a sermon about marriage equality on Shabbat, she may not know how to perform a ritual for someone transitioning genders or coming out.
The conference and the materials on this page explore adapting and developing rituals, exploring queer and trans history, pastoral care, and much more. They are made possible by a grant from the Arcus Foundation.
