Hair , In The Heights , backstage tours, and actor talkbacks. Oh my!
The Mishlahat was delighted to see 2 Broadway shows during the Mishlahat: 'Hair' and 'In the Heights'.
Following 'In the Heights' we had a discussion with the cast. We asked them about the lives of actors, the meaning of the play for them and representation of minorities in theater, and told them a little bit about ourselves and why we were in the city.
After 'Hair' we got a back-stage tour, and understood more about the operation of the show.
From Amit: "They let us into back stage in 'Hair' and we saw all the wigs and the costumes and the cables. Even the non-cool stuff was so cool. In 'In the Heights' the set was amazing, totally realistic. After the show we got to talk with 2 of the actors. It felt amazing speaking to actors from Broadway."
From Amir: "I was so excited. Both the content and the level of the production: you can't see theater like that in Israel".
