Tzedek, Tzedek Tirdof: Turning Tragedy into Action

“I know that there comes a point in one's life when you simply have to take a stand. You cannot sit by silently and watch ongoing and wholly unjustified destruction of life, tacitly supported by governments around the world, and simply do nothing.” –Rebecca Vilkomerson, Jewish Voice for Peace .

Rarely have we felt as much emotion as in the hours since the tragedy off Gaza's shores this past weekend. Few among us lack for an opinion or an emotional response - which is natural, human, and reflects the diversity of viewpoints in our movement. The pain is great surrounding this tragedy, which we must harness as a rare opportunity for focus, clarity, and action. True leaders rise to challenges at times like this - and we look to ours, in particular to President Barack Obama.

Click here to join us in an open letter demanding Presidential leadership to end the conflict now.

We have had enough of actions and reactions that set back the cause of peace and security for all the people of the region. Now is the time to demonstrate overwhelming support for determined leadership to immediately end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

We need the President to lead the way to an end - a real and immediate end - to this tragic conflict. Join CBST and J Street for this important action .
