Torah Project Dedication Opportunities

You can join Myrna in supporting the Torah Project.

With Our Own Hands: The CBST Torah Project allows us the rare opportunity to create a Torah from beginning to end, from B’reisheit to Kol Yisrael.

Myrna Reich saw her bequest as a kind of matching grant, one that would set in motion the creation of our Torah, would underwrite the important services the synagogue provides, and would inspire others to do the same.

You can join Myrna in supporting the Torah Project. Dedicate a book of the Torah or a community writing day, which will enable members to write letters of the text. Dedicate a verse, a song, an entire parsha. Children can become sponsors, too, and in doing so can strengthen their relationship to the Torah and to tzedakah.

Here is a list of dedication opportunities. But, if these don’t meet your giving needs, please contact the CBST office to discuss others.

For help choosing your dedication, please consult with Rabbi Cohen or Ilene, or attend “The Torah of Tzedakah: How to choose a meaningful dedication.” Co-taught by Rabbi Cohen and Executive Director, Ilene Sameth. Myrna Reich’s bequest put us on the road to this torah but she challenged us to create a sustaining community, as well. In this class we will study the roots of Tzedakah in the Torah and explore the ways in which each of us feels connected or can foster a connection to a particular aspect of Torah. Please join us on January 19th at 6:30 for this special class by RSVP’ing to cbstoffice@cbst.org or by calling 212-989-9498 ext. 10.
