Our new Torah will be light-weight, environmentally sustainable, and infused with our own experiences.
•Light-weight: The Torah’s light-weight design will enable more members to participate in the honor of lifting and carrying the Torah.
• Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood: The etzim, the spindles around which the Torah’s parchment is scrolled, will be crafted from wood that meets the highest criteria for environmental sustainability.
• Infused with our experiences: The kavannah, the intention, you bring to the letters your write and underwrite will inform the Jewish people’s understanding of the Torah text.
