Members of all ages have the opportunity to engage with the Torah in new ways - through study, tzedakah, and writing a letter in the Torah with our own hands.
January 31: Torah Project launch for families with children. With Soferet Jen Taylor Friedman and a Mini Shabbat Shira sing-a-long
February 24: Torah Writing Day with Soferet Jen Taylor Friedman (including drop-in opportunities for families with school-aged children to participate in writing a letter)
March 21: Families with children Torah writing event with Soferet Jen Taylor Friedman and Pre-Passover Celebration
April 14: Torah Writing Day with Sofer Gedaliyah Druin (including drop-in opportunities for families with school-aged children to participate in writing a letter)

My family missed the December 8 Opening Celebration. Is there an Opening Program for the Torah project for Families with Children?
Yes! On January 31st we will have a very special visit from Soferet Jen Taylor Friedman. She will teach us all about the Torah project including giving young people a chance to learn how a Torah is written and made. We’ll even have some music and Torah-related foods. The program will be from 2:30-4pm at our Bethune St location.
How will my child write a letter in the Torah? We haven't gotten to Hebrew calligraphy yet?
The sofrot/sofrim (scribes) who will lead us in our letter writing days will do the heavy lifting. CBST members of all ages will be invited to hold the hand of the scribes as they fill in the letters.
My child is not a major donor! Can we still be involved?
Everyone can participate in the learning opportunities and every CBST member can write a letter in the Torah, regardless of ability to donate. There will be a variety of dedication opportunities for those who choose to be involved in that way. Children under 13 can dedicate a letter of the Torah for $6.13, as a way of strengthening their relationship to the Torah and to Tzedakah.
